Dr. Karen Reese

Director of Events

Professional background: Dr. Reese is a chiropractor, since 2000. Previously, she was a photographer (shh, that’s a secret). Volunteer history: Past board member and the first female board president of the Tampa Bay Business Guild (currently the Tampa Bay Diversity Chamber of Commerce), delivered food for people suffering with HIV/AIDS, aided people with spinal cord injuries, and a research team studying multiple sclerosis. She was also a volunteer at the Paralympic and Olympic games held in Georgia.

Hobbies: bicycling, hiking, kayaking, swimming, dancing, rock climbing, paddle boarding and much more.

Favorite thing about Tampa/St. Petersburg: Is a toss-up between the beautifully sunny beach days and
the wonderful friendly people who live here.

On a perfect day: I’d: Wake with my windows open to a lush garden after a night of gentle rain. I would
sit out over looking the ocean sipping my favorite warm beverage, nutritious breakfast with a nice pastry
appetizer and special friends. Later kayak on one of our many local spring fed rivers. After getting off the
river, grab some lunch at Punky’s, then play volleyball in Gulfport. Before dinner, I would meet my
friends at The Reading Room, or Lolita’s. We would all head over to a restaurant overlooking the bay or
gulf. The end of the day would be karaoke and then dancing to live entertainment at Punky’s or
Queenshead.
